STUDENT LIFE
St. Anthony provides various clubs and activities to enhance students' educational program, promoting cooperation, enthusiasm, initiative, and responsibility. These activities are directed by the Student Government, divisional moderators, and club moderators.
COUNSELING
The counseling program provides services and resources for the members of the school community, with the aim of facilitating educational, social, and professional development. Mrs. Nogaki and Ms. Chelsea are the two counselors available to support student needs.
Our counselors respond to and address emotional, relational, and academic difficulties that arise. We strive to create a safe environment that empowers students to be their best self, where they ultimately feel cared for and supported. Services include individual counseling as well as mediation and topical group counseling (offered at various times). Assessment of personal counseling issues and students that require extended services will be guided to outside referrals as needed.
- Students, grades 6-12, are equipped with knowledge and skills for socio-emotional well being and college/career readiness. There are class guidance lessons that cover a wide range of topics and are catered to the students' developmental level. The topics include but are not limited to: relationship-building, organizational skills, study skills, stress management, career navigation, guidance with college applications, and accessing financial/scholarship resources.
- Students also receive individual academic advising to prepare for their 9th, 11th, & 12th grade years of schooling, as well as group academic advising for the other grades. There is emphasis to guide students in their special interests, and to take challenging classes (i.e. AP, dual enrollment) that will equip them for postsecondary options.
- Students are introduced and encouraged to learn more about colleges through college visits with admissions directors offered on our campus, attendance in fall & spring college fairs, announcing college acceptances at morning assemblies/announcements, and having specific guidance lessons for students to prepare for postsecondary pathways. There is also an annual Financial Aid/FAFSA Night offered to the seniors and their families. This allows them to start (and possibly finish) the FAFSA application with immediate, in-person assistance from specialists, and to learn more about the financial aid process.
