Curriculum – A faith-based education with a Reggio Emilia inspired approach, play-based exploration with long term investigations of children’s interests blended with academic component for kindergarten readiness.

The St. Anthony School preschool builds a foundation of faith for young children in where they can play, learn, and grow with God. Our program provides quality education enabling students to become caring, responsible, and socially conscious members of society. Our students learn through play and teacher facilitated activities to develop positive attitudes and habits for growing, living and learning.

Our teachers are highly qualified, with knowledge of Early Childhood education and professional dedication to promote learning and implement developmentally appropriate curriculum. They provide support for students and families with dicers interests and needs, through play and the development of basic skills for forming learning.

St. Anthony Preschool is a licensed for 48 children by the State of Hawai’i Department of Human Services and is among the elite centers accredited by National Association for the Education of Young Children (NAEYC). A licensed and accredited preschool ensures the school is able to provide services that meet the highest quality standards set by the early childhood education industry.

Preschool Learning Environment

Each day, the children are offered multiple opportunities to explore, discover and grow. Our aim is to enrich children’s play through problem solving, communication and cooperation. Developmentally appropriate materials are throughout the intently organized classrooms, inviting the children to develop curiosity, self-esteem, self-direction, values, strength, and coordination. Material arrangement encourages students’ involvement and encourages them to learn while caring for their environment.

Family Involvement

We welcome and encourage families to take part in their child’s journey through preschool. While there are no required time commitments, we offer various ways for parents to get involved. In addition to these opportunities, we formally communicate with each family at least three times a year for progress reports, reflection and ongoing assessments of each child’s development and learning.

GENERAL INFORMATION

Our program is for toilet-trained children. To be eligible, Pre School applicants must be three years old by December 31st of their year of entry.

The Pre School program follows our academic year schedule (mid-August to early June). Included in tuition for school year 2023-2024 are school supplies, morning snacks, lunch, and after-school care until 4:00 pm. Morning drop-off begins each day at 7:15 am. Class begins with morning circle time at 8:00 am. The regular school day ends at 2:15 pm. Students staying for After School Care must be picked up by 4:00 pm (effective SY 2023–2024).
