The Counseling & Guidance Office provides resources and services to all members of the school community with the aim of facilitating educational, social, and professional development.
PERSONAL COUNSELING
To respond and address emotional, relational, and academic difficulties that come up. To empower the students to be their best self, and to ultimately ensure that they feel supported. Assessment of personal counseling issues and students/families that require extended services may be guided to outside referrals as needed.
COLLEGE GUIDANCE
This office administers a school-wide program to support college and work readiness in grades 6-12 and assumes responsibility for guiding students and families in regard to the entire college selection, application, financial aid, scholarships and admission procedures. SCHOOL-WIDE TESTING PROGRAM
This office coordinates the program and calendar of all standardized testing for students (PSAT, AP, TerraNova, etc) including scheduling test dates, registering students, arranging for special “prep” session as needed, assisting with testing accommodations for students with additional needs, and administering the tests. The counselor will develop extensive summary reports on students’ progress on standardized testing to the school community as appropriate. This office is a resource to assist parents and guardians understand a student’s test results.
