St. Anthony School Staff Member Bio

Teri Tavares
Kindergarten A

“Children are not things to be molded, but people to be unfolded.”  Jess Lair

Teri strives to plant the seeds of faith, values, and knowledge into the curious minds of her students.  She nourishes their learning with creative and innovative ways. Teri enjoys the beams of excitement when challenges are discovered and the young ones begin to flourish as a whole child.

Her classroom is an array of colors each one representing the vivaciousness of the learning environment:  Red, respect; Orange, energetic; Yellow, happy; Green, fresh; Blue, peace; and Purple, acceptance. Somewhere over that Rainbow, Teri instills the love for God and love for others.

Teri’s Catholic education and being alumni at St. Anthony School have played an integral part in her life.   Building strong relationships, deepening faith, and paving the way to stewardship are the reasons why she became an educator.

"I’m thankful for the sense of community and cultural blending that was part of St. Anthony. Only after going to the mainland, did I appreciate how fortunate I was to have grown up in this setting."

Class of 1968
