Ms.Betacourt’s students know “Science rocks!” and she loves trying to engage them in science whenever and wherever she can! While Ms.Betancourt has been in education for 14 years, tries to enhance her classroom teaching, by calling on her other work experience which includes working in a research lab at UCLA, and a small aquarium in California . Stephanie lives in Kihei, with her favorite partner in science, Nilla, her golden retriever lab doggie mix. In her spare time, she & Nilla check out the wonders of ocean life at the beach, and hiking where she can in Maui. She shares this love of nature and science with her students, by taking them out of the classroom to see science all over their island. She has even taken some of the students on a 3-day Haleakala trek or 4 day Kahoolawe adventure! She loves being part of the SAS Ohana! Fight On Trojans!

"I’m thankful for the sense of community and cultural blending that was part of St. Anthony. Only after going to the mainland, did I appreciate how fortunate I was to have grown up in this setting."
