St. Anthony School Staff Member Bio
Raenelle was born and raised here on the island of Maui. Growing up in the small town of Paia, she always knew she wanted to work with children and families. She obtained her Associate of Arts and Bachelor of Arts degree in Social Studies and English from Chaminade University of Honolulu. She then went on to obtain her Master’s in Education and Certification with an emphasis in Special Education and Secondary Education from the University of Phoenix. Raenelle has been in the field of education for 18 years, with eight of them as a classroom teacher and 10 as a substitute for the Kamehameha Schools Maui. Raenelle has taught at Lihikai Elementary, Maui Waena Intermediate, Christ the King School, and Lokelani Intermediate. In the past 13 years before returning to the classroom full-time, she has worked as a liaison social worker for children in foster care on the Mainland, who were placed in care in Hawaii. She also worked during this that time as the Director of Program Services for a non-profit agency overseeing both intervention and preventative programs for families with children 0-5 years old as well as teens and their caregivers in Maui County. Raenelle is currently a candidate at the University of Hawaii at Manoa pursing a Doctorate degree in Educational Administration and Women’s Studies. During her free time, she enjoys spending time with family and friends, being a member of a book club, shopping, and baking.
