Melodie Tafao
3rd Grade

mel tafao

Melodie is originally from Stockton, California. She has a Bachelor of Science degree in Biopsychology from the University of California, Santa Barbara and a Master of Education in Instructional Leadership from Chaminade University. Melodie is also a Major in the United States Army Reserve and a Public Affairs Officer for the 9th Mission Support Command headquartered in Honolulu, Hawaii. She proudly serves because of her love for our country and for what it stands for. While she was stationed at Fort Jackson, South Carolina, she met the love of her life, her husband, Mosi.  In 2007, Melodie and her husband decided to move to Maui where she became a part of our St. Anthony family.

Melodie is currently and has been teaching our Third grade since 2007. When asked what she loved about teaching 3rd grade, Melodie responded that it’s the students and their love for school and learning.  Melodie also loves teaching at St. Anthony because our Catholic faith allows her to talk about God and to pray with our students and staff.Melodie has two children, Melia and Mosiah, who both attend St. Anthony.  On the weekends, Melodie loves spending time with her children, running, reading, and catching up on sleep.  We are very thankful and proud to have Melodie in our St. Anthony ohana!

"I’m thankful for the sense of community and cultural blending that was part of St. Anthony. Only after going to the mainland, did I appreciate how fortunate I was to have grown up in this setting."
