Ma ka hana ka ‘ike, ma ka ‘ike ka mana
In the work there’s knowledge, in the knowledge there’s power
Ua pōmaikaʻi maoli nō hoʻi au i ke aʻo ma ke kula ʻO St. Anthony. I am beyond blessed to be teaching at St. Anthony. I have been part of the SAS ‘ohana for 19 years and a parish member of St. Anthony Church. I’m very passionate about teaching. I am native to the shores of Maui Nui a Kama, raised in Paukūkalo. Mother of 2 children Olecis (c/o2000) and Oralani (c/o 2004) and Puna to Orianna (Nonohe) and Hāliko and fury baby Makakilo. Love Ke Akua, ‘ohana, hula and all things Hawai’i.
I teach 7th grade Hawaiian Monarchy, 9th grade Health and Wellness, 9th grade Marianist Foundations, 11th grade Modern Hawaiian History, and Freshmen moderator.
My first introduction to the Marianist was in 2010. Since then I have been a moderator for the Marianist L.I.F.E ministry (Living in Faith Experience) for SAS High school students. My daughter is a 2003 L.I.F.E’r. I believe that a Catholic Education, which emphasizes spiritual and academic excellence, has the ability to transform a student’s life. Being a part of building that foundation is an exciting responsibility.
For the past 36 years I have been an ‘olapa with hālau Ke’alaokamaile (Keali’i Reichel) and traveled the world spreading our culture. Often my time is given in serving our community. I value my time outdoors, Vitamin Sea time, working in the lo’i or playing with my little princesses. When I’m not grading papers or planning lessons, you’ll find me enjoying spending time with family, friends and colleagues. Did you know that I attended a UH Hilo and UH Manoa?
