Art Fillazar
Records – Grades 6-12

Art Fillazar is no stranger to the St. Anthony ‘ohana. He transferred to SAS from Pu’unene School as a fourth grader. He is a member of St. Anthony’s first coed graduating, THE class of 1969. They recently celebrated their 50th class reunion during the 2019 Ho’olaule’a. He is proud of being the first ASB president of the coed institution and having had perfect attendance in all his nine years at SAS.
After receiving his Bachelor’s Degree in Secondary Education and English with a minor in Spanish from St. Martin’s University in Lacey, Washington in 1973, he returned to his high school alma mater to begin his professional career. He was a member of the English department and also served as advisor for the yearbook, and student council.
In August 1980 he returned to the Lacey campus to begin his Masters program in counseling. He moved back to Maui in 1984 and began a 30 year career at Lahainaluna High School where he retired in 2014 as their student activities coordinator.
He is now a part-timer at SAS focusing on student records. His office is located in Damien Hall (look for the white door next to the Alumni Center). He also volunteers as graduation coordinator and serves as a liaison for the Maui Vicariate Youth Ministry program.
