St. Anthony High Junior Senior High School has been blessed by people who love and care for our school and its students – we are the beneficiaries of gifts from people who share so much of themselves - let me share some of these kindnesses with you which they give to our students and each other unconditionally:


To Lindy Sutherland, Board Chair, for his strength of aloha for and dedication to SAS;


To Past and Present Board members: Joe Andrews, Bro. John Campbell, Fr. Alan DeLong, Patricia Eason, Sue Pleiss, JoAnn Ridao, Winona Martinez, Andrea Solari, Mike Williams, Randy Piltz, Larry Joyo, Patricia Rickard, Tom Phillips, Ron LeClergue for their years of continued diligence and oversight;


To Faculty and Staff for their collective love of students and concern for their education, safety and well-being;


To Fr. Malley and Fr. Tutis for their guidance, support and recommendations;


To Alumni like Miriam Kahalekai, Paul Kobayashi, Susan Takamiya, and Keith Moniz for their willingness to listen, openness to new ideas and commitment to SAS;


To new Graduates/Alumni like Buddy Nobriga who want us to help SAS because they were here and recently witnessed improvement needs;
To Harry and Nee Chang Wong for their belief in SAS to fully fund five (5) computer labs;


To Kainoa Arensdorf for her “can do” attitude, her youthful energy and enthusiasm;


To Leslie Baldridge for her willingness to accept new responsibilities with a brand new Key club – adding this to her National Honor Society and curricular duties;


To Joe Bartsch, one of our best-dressed teachers, for his fine example of Catholic pastoral effort;


To Isaac Cetto for his excellent Math teaching skills and his ability to chunk material and present it so students can grasp the concepts;


To Kathy DeLima for her gentleness and solid grounding in religious dogma;


To Sr. Leone Drexler for her extensive knowledge of families of SAS and Hawaii and her wonderful counseling skills;


To Wayne Eberly for trying to repair our facilities and meet constant demands for areas needing immediate attention;


To Lisa Giamoyris for her vast historical background of and service to SAS;


To Garrett and Susan Glassen who have dug trenches and personally, physically and mentally used their collective knowledge and expertise to network our entire school and raise our technological standards to surpass national levels;


To Joshua Greenberg for his exciting approaches to art with a special affinity for ceramics;


To Kristen Handalian who is receptive to new ideas, people and events and makes a concerted effort to instill a similar characteristic in her students;


To Pamela Healy who has found innovative methods of interfacing PE/Health and Language Arts;


To Dr. Carmen Himenes for her knowledge, compassion, support and great sense of humor;


To Susan Inamasu who has accepted a new position with a smile and welcoming personality;


To Jeanne Jones for her flexibility, generosity and willingness to try new things;


To Maureen Kearns for her great instructional strategies, mutual friends and love of students, flowers and Maui;


To Jim Klaczak for his ability to cut through the superfluous and for his great sense of humor;


To Lilyana Koa for her deep, intense mana’o about the Hawaiian culture and providing SAS with extensive community networking;


To Sr. Ann Leach for her love of books and strength as an environmentalist;


To Chris Lowney for his ready smile, acceptance of all students and his easy-going, helpful manner;


To Paul Mac Leod for his professionalism, well qualified and prepared teacher with excellent strategies and a fun DAD;


To Momi Maglente for her role supporting her husband’s duties as deacon and for seeking ways to expand religious instruction;


To Ted Manzano for gifting our students with his musical experience – how fortunate we are to have him here;


To Ernie Mendoza for his business and religious support; generosity of spirit and commitment to help SAS meet Marianist standards;


To Leah Mills for her dedication to helping students develop a love of good literature and her constancy towards and love for children of Hawaii;

To Dan Molin for his ability as a juggler keeping 27 sports in order and in compliance with MIL and HHSAA rules;


To Katie Molin for her wonderful receptivity to new programs and her ability to create great learning experiences for students;


To Lester Moniz for his years of true loyalty to SAS and for his clear suggestions to improve operations;


To Debbie Naeole for her loyalty and unconditional love for SAS;


To Aida Negre for her long time commitment to SAS due to education of her children;


To Debbie Nelson for her gracious personality and business acumen in upgrading our Business procedures and practices;


To Uilani Nelson and family for enriching my life immeasurably – love you all:


To Scott Pagdilao for starting a new program and finding new solutions to old problems;


To Karen Parish for her efficiency and accuracy in registering our students and maintaining their academic and health records;


To Janice Pruett for her organizational skills, positive attitude and successful grant writing + appropriate follow through;


To Mike Pruett for doing so many different things to enhance the beauty of SAS and teaching us all to love the land like he does;


To Pomai Pruett for her gentle ways and being so well-organized to handle multiple tasks efficiently and thoroughly;


To Patricia Rickard for her deep love for people in general and students in particular and for her continued dedication to SAS, her uncompromising and uncomplaining show of support– how fortunate we are to have you;


To Pat Roche for her willingness to devote time and energy to SAS and to work through new curricular requirements to help our students;


To Mary Rodriguez with her unlimited energy and verve for learning – she motivates students to surpass their own expectations;


To Melanie Saito with her youth, energy and positive attitude – she is an excellent leader/mentor for our students;


To Deborah Shing for her enthusiasm for students’ learning and her wonderful ability to enliven foreign language and culture;


To my husband Don Snyder for his daily encouragement, support and sharing my love for young people and education;


To Judy Yamanoue for her years of friendship, family and for creating vital links for students and the community.


We have all been blessed to receive these gifts from our teachers, staff, family and colleagues. May our St. Anthony Ohana have a truly wondrous season of Thanksgiving filled with true joy.
