Roses are red, violets are blue

Congratulations to St. Anthony Jr., Sr. High School’s very own Frank DeFellicia who was the winner of the National Endowment of the Arts Poetry Outloud Contest. Frank’s victory earns him the opportunity to represent the island of Maui in Honolulu on March 9th at St. Andrew Priory’s Tenny Theater. The winner of the Honolulu competition will continue on to Washington D.C. in May 2008 to compete at George Washington University at the national level. Frank was under the guidance of Drama teacher and club advisor, Virginia Sandell.

And You Thought Albert Einstein was a Genius

Have you spent long nights staying up and wondering what brand of paintball has the best splatter? Or, what brand of popcorn yields the highest percentage of popped kernels? Well, worry no more...Mrs. Rodriguez’ science classes have those answers for you and more! Forty of our budding scientists participated in the Maui County Science Fair on February 8th at the Kihei Community Center and answered to a number of judges the details of their experiments that they have been working on for the last threee months. With 200 projects displayed from around the County our students represented St. Anthony well. Coming out with an Honorable Mention was Michele Rabara who has been invited to participate in the next level of competition.
