Augustine Educational Foundation Fund (AEF)
Founded in 1984 by the late Most Reverend Joseph A. Ferrario, the Augustine Educational Foundation was formed to help Hawaii Catholic Schools reach out to parents that wanted a quality Catholic education for their children. Without discrimination against ethnic background, race or religion, the Foundation provides scholarships for students attending a Hawaii Catholic School based on need. The application and required documents are submitted to Private School Aid Services (PSAS), an independent company, for processing.

What is financial assistance?
Financial assistance is a program designed to assist those students who wish to pursue a Catholic education at St. Anthony Junior-Senior High School and are unable to meet the full cost of tuition.
Will my financial assistance application be confidential?
All financial assistance applications are completely confidential. The application and required documents are submitted to Private School Aid Services (PSAS), an independent company, for processing.
Who can apply for financial assistance?
Any current student or incoming student may apply for financial assistance. Incoming students must have completed the admissions process and gained admittance to the school in order to be considered. All applicants, new and returning, must have paid the $300 registration fee per family, and must reapply for financial assistance each year.
When do I apply for financial assistance?
The deadline for submission is March 9, 2012, in order for the Augustine Educational Foundation in conjunction with Private School Aid Service (PSAS) to process the applications. Augustine Educational Foundation Fund applications will not be accepted after the March 9, 2012 deadline. Applications for St. Anthony Junior-Senior High School Tuition Assistance Fund will be accepted after the deadline; however, awards may be less than those applying by the deadline.
How do I obtain a financial assistance application?
Applications will be available January 10, 2012. The applications can be downloaded from the St. Anthony website or applications may be picked up at the Admissions Office.
How do I apply for financial assistance and what forms must I include with my application?
Submit all documents to St. Anthony Junior-Senior High School Admissions Office, along with the other required information requested in the application (e.g., a complete copy of 1040), by the deadline, March 9, 2012. St. Anthony will mail all documents to PSAS for processing.
Are students receiving financial assistance required to work on campus or expected to maintain certain performance standards?
All students/families receiving St. Anthony’s financial assistance awards are required to contribute service to school ranging from 30-210 hours, depending on the amount of the award. Students must also maintain a 2.0 GPA in order to remain eligible for financial assistance.
Is financial assistance automatically renewed?
Financial aid awards are made for one year, thus, parents requesting financial assistance must reapply each year. Also, to be considered for further assistance, each student receiving aid must contribute positively to the school community, maintain a 2.0 GPA, and demonstrate positive social behavior.
When will we be notified if we receive an award?
Notification will be made by mail by the end of April.
Will a request for financial assistance affect my child’s chances of admission?
Admission decisions and financial aid awards are kept separate. Applying for financial aid in no way hinders an applicant’s consideration for admission to St. Anthony Junior-Senior High School. All financial aid information is strictly confidential. It is possible for a student to gain admittance and not receive financial assistance, if the need or performance criteria are not met.
Does St. Anthony offer any academic, artistic, athletic or merit scholarships?
St. Anthony does not offer any academic, artistic, athletic or merit scholarships. See financial assistance opportunities above.
